BiographyDelegate Angela Angel is a fearless advocate for the most vulnerable in society. She works to address systematic gaps in the law and social systems that leave women and children impoverished and unprotected. After years of helping victims, she found herself in an abusive relationship. In June of 2012, she was 9 months pregnant in a homeless shelter for women escaping domestic violence. By June of 2014, she rebuilt her life and was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates. Delegate Angel is a seasoned attorney who spent years prosecuting child abuse and neglect for the City of New York. During her time in the legislature, she wrote and passed more bills than any member of her chamber. As a divorced mother of 5, she is committed to creating opportunities that will allow others to improve their quality of life. She is currently serving as the Black Engagement Director for Pete for America, Mayor Pete Buttigieg's Presidential Campaign.
