BiographyAnna-Bo Emmanuel is a Staff Attorney at Legal Services of Greater Miami, where she works in the Community and Economic Development Unit. She represents eligible small businesses and non-profit organizations, by providing them with a full range of transactional services on real estate matters such as commercial leasing, public‐private partnerships, and affordable housing matters. She also advises clients on corporate structures, contract negotiations, license agreements, intellectual property matters, hospitality‐related matters, and all other transactional needs. Ms. Emmanuel is the co-founder and current leader of the Miami Opportunity Zones Working Group, which is a county‐wide coalition with participants from the government, non‐profit, and private finance sectors, along with national partners. The group’s goal is to direct equity investment to existing small businesses located in opportunity zones.
Ms. Emmanuel is active in her community and serves on the Miami Dade County Citizens Advisory Committee for the General Obligations Bond Program and was a member of the 2017 Miami Dade Charter Review Task Force. Ms. Emmanuel is also active with local voluntary bar associations including the Caribbean Bar Association, Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association, and the Miami-Dade Chapter of FAWL. In 2016 she was recognized by Legacy Magazine as one of Miami’s 40 Under 40 Black Leaders of Today and Tomorrow. Ms. Emmanuel earned her JD at FIU College of Law and her LLM in Real Estate and Property Development at the University of Miami School of Law.
