Janeen N. Lofton is a corporate attorney advising in the areas of all things technology including fintech, crypto currency, blockchain, startups, and corporate governance. Prior to practicing law, Janeen worked as an Investment Banker on Wall Street specializing in Asset-Backed Securities before joining Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe in Washington, DC and later joined Hymes & Zebedee in the US Virgin Islands specializing in complex business litigation defense and complex insurance litigation defense before joining B2B. Janeen currently holds several NBA positions. She has serveS as Deputy Chief of Staff for President Carlos Moore, is currently Chairperson of the Communications Law Section, a NBA Board Member, and continues to lead policy change based initiatives for the NBA’s Young Lawyers Division. She frequently serves as an expert panelist and her last panel addressed technology and law with Vice President Kamala Harris. Moreover, Janeen has served as a expert panelist providing CLEs to large corporations including Microsoft, Facebook, Walmart and The Home Depot covering subjects like cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, GDPR and cloud computing. She created President Thomas’ national civic agenda which includes combating the deterioration of the Black Vote by organizing national voter registration drives and organizing voter restoration of rights discussions and petition drives and serves as a Regional Area Director for Black Attorneys United Initiative. Finally, Janeen is an active board member of Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association, and Chairs GSCBWLA’s Legislative Advocacy Committee. She is a American Bar Association Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy Fellow, a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow, and a Nation's Best Advocate 40 under 40 Awardee. In terms of Janeen's social engagement, she is an active member of The Links, Incorporated Greater Miami (FL) Chapter serving those underprivileged in Miami-Dade, a member of the Young Patronesses of the Opera In-School Program bringing opera and opera education to depressed school systems, a Sustaining Member of The Junior League of Miami, Founder of Erudition, a program providing sophisticated science, math and arts add-ons for depressed communities, a Board Member for the Miami Bach Society and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Incorporated - Dade County Chapter. Janeen is an accomplished violinist and linguist (Amharic, Twi, Fante, Japanese and Spanish) and enjoys traveling throughout sub-saharan Africa.
